STEPHEN SHOPTAW

Attorney Stephen Shoptaw was born in Saline County and attended grade school in the Benton School District. As a teenager, Stephen lived in Prattsville, Arkansas, where he graduated from Poyen High School in 2003. Stephen has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a double minor in Legal Studies and Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas – Little Rock, where he made the dean’s list. He graduated from the University of Arkansas – Little Rock, William H. Bowen School of Law in 2012. He was admitted to the Arkansas Bar in September 2012.

Stephen has real courtroom experience and enjoys a good challenge. During law school, Stephen served as a student attorney at the Pulaski County Public Defender’s Office. Working at the Public Defender’s Office provided Stephen the opportunity to try cases before becoming a fully licensed attorney, an opportunity only provided to a select few law students. Stephen has a passion for criminal defense and believes that a bad moment does not define a person for life. He believes that every person is entitled to a good defense at an affordable price. Stephen works hard to get the best results for his clients and will fight back against the government’s unlimited resources on behalf of his clients. Stephen has represented clients in the Arkansas Court of Appeals in criminal law and family law.
